On March 5, Lazard CEO and Chairman Peter Orszag was presented with the Medal for High Civic Service at the Citizens Budget Commission's annual gala.

The Citizens Budget Commission (CBC) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit civic organization whose mission is to achieve constructive change in the finances and services of New York City and New York State government. The CBC bestows the Medal for High Civic Service annually to a current or former public servant who exemplifies CBC’s values and a dedication to serving the public. Peter was presented with the award by Lazard President and Co-Head of North America Financial Advisory Raymond McGuire

In his remarks, Peter underscored the importance of pairing rigorous analysis with a deep understanding of the broader political and economic landscape. He also reaffirmed a core belief shared by the CBC: that sound decision-making begins with honest data and a commitment to evidence.
