Hussain Al Tajir

Hussain Al Tajir is a Managing Director and CEO of Lazard Financial Advisory for the United Arab Emirates. He is an experienced banker with over 20 years of experience studying cross-border strategies and corridors.

Prior to joining Lazard, Hussain was a Managing Director and Head of Dubai Coverage for Global Banking at HSBC, where he managed one of the largest and most complex portfolios in the region with over US$5bn in client relationships. Having first joined HSBC in 2003, Hussain worked in syndicated finance before moving into capital markets, being initially responsible for origination and execution for debt capital markets then later taking on responsibility for all UAE, followed by the addition of Egypt and Oman to his portfolio.

Recent experience includes advising DEWA and Salik on their IPOs, advising the Government of Dubai on their highly successful return to capital markets with dual-tranches of 10 and 30 yr issuances, originating and executing landmark transactions for Dubai Airports and the Dubai Metro, and over the course of his tenure at HSBC, increasing mandate numbers across various product lines in Capital Markets, Treasury Markets and Equity Markets.

Hussain holds a BSBA in Finance & Banking American University of Dubai.
