Emilio Mahuad is a Managing Director and CEO Lazard Mexico Financial Advisory. Emilio has more than two decades of Investment Banking experience leading complex corporate finance transactions across sectors globally.
Emilio has advised on transactions representing over $50 billion of deal value. Selected merger and acquisition, financing and restructuring transactions have involved some of Mexico’s largest and most reputable companies and numerous financial sponsors.
Prior to joining Lazard in 2022, Emilio spent eight years at UBS most recently as Country Head and Head of Investment Banking Mexico. Previously, Emilio was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he spent ten years holding different leadership positions in the Latin America/Mexico group. He also held roles within the Investment Banking practice of Bear Stearns & Co. in NY.
Mr. Mahuad holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Iberamericana in Mexico City (Valedictorian).
