Addar Levi

Addar Levi is Deputy General Counsel and Global Head of Regulatory Affairs at Lazard, where she leads the company’s global litigation, regulatory, and compliance functions.

Before joining Lazard, Ms. Levi was the Acting General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, serving as the principal legal advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury and the chief legal officer of the Department. In that role, she led the Department's approximately 2,000 attorneys and spearheaded its banking regulatory agenda, enforcement priorities, and investment security and sanctions initiatives. In 2022, she led the team that structured and executed the G7's $50 billion revenue acceleration loan to Ukraine, an innovative cross-border lending initiative funded through interest earned on immobilized Russian assets. Ms. Levi received the Alexander Hamilton Award, the Treasury Department's highest honor.

Previously, she held several other senior roles in the Department of the Treasury, including as the Principal Deputy General Counsel, and at the White House.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Levi was General Counsel of a large presidential family office and foundation, serving as a member of the Executive Management Committee and overseeing all legal and compliance functions. Before that, she was a litigator in the Washington, D.C. office of Covington & Burling. Ms. Levi is a member of the American Law Institute, and a non-resident senior fellow at Columbia Law School. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles.
