Dermott O’Flanagan is a Managing Director and member of the Restructuring group at Lazard Middle Market. Over the last ten years, Mr. O’Flanagan’s transaction experience includes both out-of-court and in-court restructurings and distressed and traditional M&A assignments. In addition, he has executed financing transactions including exchange offers, tender offers, debtor-in-possession financings, exit financings, first and second lien financings, and rights offerings.
Mr. O’Flanagan has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including automotive, consumer, industrial, manufacturing, media, oil and gas, retail and services. Recent restructuring assignments include Allens, Associated Wholesalers, Bowe, Bell + Howell, Horsehead Holding Corp., Liberty Tire Recycling, Modular Space Holdings, Nuverra Environmental Solutions, Sidewinding Drilling, and Standard Register.
Prior to working in the Restructuring group, Mr. O’Flanagan worked in Mergers & Acquisitions, where he focused on sell-side engagements within the Retail and Business Services industries for entrepreneurs, family owned businesses, and private equity groups. Some representative transactions include the sale of Heartland Automotive to Sun Capital Partners, the sale of Sundance to Brentwood Associates, and the sale of Performance Bicycle to North Castle Partners.
Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. O’Flanagan was a Financial Analyst with McGladrey Pullen where he worked on sell-side mergers and acquisitions engagements for private middle market companies.
Mr. O'Flanagan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Georgetown University.
