Lazard hires exceptional graduate students with diverse backgrounds and degrees year-round. Analysts must possess a passion for business and a genuine interest in the Investment Banking sector, particularly in relation to Mergers and Acquisitions. Analysts are fully engaged in all aspects of the transaction process: supporting transaction teams by performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, preparing client presentations, and assisting in due diligence efforts.

Unlike many of our competitors, Lazard's unique structure provides Analysts with exposure to senior bankers and client representatives from the very beginning. Due to our relatively small size and significant transaction volume, we expect Analysts to assume extraordinary levels of responsibility in situations that require a high degree of maturity, self-confidence and technical aptitude. You will be assigned to various specialist or generalist teams.

Training and Development

Our clients expect a lot from us, so we ask a lot of our teams. New Analysts will have the opportunity to attend an extensive four-week training program, which will provide them with a sound understanding of the technical aspects of their role.

This program is attended by new colleagues from across Europe, and includes master classes led by practicing bankers and on-the-job coaching by team colleagues.

As your career progresses, you will discuss your training and development needs with your managers semi-annually, as part of the firm's performance management process. As part of your ongoing development, you will have the opportunity to attend technical and business skills programs on a regularly, alongside other European colleagues.

In addition to courses, Analysts will be expected to keep up-to-date with regulatory and market developments, and to take every opportunity to learn from more experienced team members on each assignment.

Unlike many of our competitors, Lazard's unique structure with smaller deal teams provides Analysts with increased accountability, responsibility, visibility, and direct interaction with senior bankers and clients right from the very beginning. We are looking for individuals who are analytical, intellectually curious, enthusiastic, driven, hardworking, and eager to learn.

Analysts are a key contributor in all aspects of our advisory work, with direct exposure to our senior bankers and trusted advisors. You will be supporting our transaction teams by conducting financial analysis and modeling, company and industry sector research, creating and preparing client presentations, interacting with clients, and experiencing and contributing to real projects.

Analysts are assigned to different sector or product teams according to the business need at the time of joining. As part of the Analyst programme, typically three years in length, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various teams to ensure you gain experience across a number of different disciplines and sectors, as well as gain exposure with a range of senior bankers This experience will be invaluable during your early years at Lazard.

Training and Development

Our new Analyst class will attend an extensive five-week European training programme, which will provide them with a sound understanding of the technical and business aspects of their role. As your career progresses, you will discuss your training and development needs with your managers semi-annually, as part of the firm's performance management process. As part of your ongoing development, you will have the opportunity to attend technical and business skills courses regularly, alongside other European colleagues. Analysts are expected to complete the compulsory Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory exams before starting work.
