Asset Management Research Analyst BAME Summer Insight Programme
Our inaugural 2021 BAME Summer Insight Programme is open to undergraduates in their first year of study. Recruitment for the programme is currently open and will take place on a rolling basis.
The programme will take place between Monday 12th July and Friday 16th July 2021 - we intend to run the internship physically in our office but are prepared to run virtually if required
The programme is open to candidates identifying as BAME (Black, Asian and other minority ethnicities).
Participants may be offered a place on our 2022 Summer internship programme, which serves as our preferred pipeline towards full-time employment as an investment professional.
Who we are
We balance the feel of a small firm with the scale of a large global organization. The individual matters - if you come up with a great idea, you can apply it.
We cultivate a workplace culture where exceptional talent thrives. We promote diversity and inclusion, foster professional and personal development, and encourage our people to engage with the communities in which we live and work. A workforce comprised of people with varied backgrounds and experiences creates a rich diversity of thought that empowers us to challenge conventional wisdom, as diverse perspectives lead to better decisions.
What to expect
After your induction, you will be individually buddied by one of our experienced analysts for the duration of the programme.
The insight programme will allow you to understand our company and the asset management industry, and will involve:
1.Training - delivered by our analysts on various topics such as financial modelling, stock picking, valuation methods and ESG;
2.Networking - you will have the opportunity to informally meet and ask questions of our investment and distribution professionals, as well as being introduced to various divisions of our wide business; and
3.Project - you will be assigned an investment-related topic to research, and be asked to present your findings at the end of the programme. This topic will be given to you at the start of the week, and you will be able to work on it between training and networking sessions

We are offering a unique opportunity to spend the summer as part of our Equity Research or Sales & Marketing teams.
Candidates should have a thirst for learning and challenge consensual thinking. They should have a logical and analytical thought process and have an inquisitive mind. They need to possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
We are extremely proud of our track record in transitioning interns to successful long term members of our team and hope to offer this year’s candidates the opportunity to join us after their studies.
The program takes place each year between July and August, and is based at our London offices in the heart of Mayfair.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must be in their penultimate year of undergraduate or postgraduate study, highly motivated, with a demonstrated interest in finance and the markets.
What to Expect
You will be given actual work from the very first day you arrive. After induction, you will be individually mentored by one of our experienced analysts or marketers for the duration of the programme.
The internship will provide you with a very broad and in depth understanding of the skills required to be successful at our firm: from fundamental research, financial modelling, portfolio construction and valuation within the Equity Research stream, to client servicing, sales support and relationship management within the Sales & Marketing stream.
You will be given opportunities to attend business and social events to help understand our company and the asset management industry, alongside building your personal network.
The highlight of our summer internship is the presentation of your project or stock pitch to senior management.
