Analysts
Analysts in Paris are generally candidates with an economics / business
school background (e.g. "Grandes Ecoles de commerce et d'ingénieurs").
An excellent academic record and/or previous relevant work experience,
in addition to a genuine interest in the financial advisory sector,
are essential. Analysts primarily support transaction teams by performing
financial and statistical analysis, conducting research, preparing
client presentations and assisting in due diligence efforts. The
Paris environment provides new bankers with early exposure to clients
and senior managers.
Potential bankers need to display the following qualities throughout
the application and selection process:
- Analytical thought process, intellectual agility and rigor
- Energy, enthusiasm and resilience
- Outstanding teamwork abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- High academic achievement
- Excellent language skills (French and English a must)
- A strong personality
- Commercial acumen and strategic awareness
- Innovative thinking
Training and Development
As our clients expect a lot from us, we ask a lot of our teams.
New junior bankers will have the opportunity to attend a one-month
extensive training program which will provide them with a sound
understanding of the technical aspects of their role. This initial
program, attended by new colleagues from across Europe, includes
carefully designed residential courses, master classes led by practicing
bankers, on-the-job coaching by team colleagues and visits to our
other European and New York offices.
As your career progresses, at least once a year you will discuss
your training and development needs with your managers as part of
the firm's performance appraisal process. As part of your ongoing
development, you will attend technical and business skills programs
on a regular basis, along side other European colleagues.
In addition to courses, bankers will be expected to keep up-to-date
with regulatory and market developments and to take every opportunity
to learn from more experienced team members on each assignment.
Internships
Lazard's Paris office offers long-term internships to students
looking for a one-year break during their academic course. An internship
with Lazard is an excellent way of gaining a better understanding
of the nature and culture of our business. It allows students to
experience the Analyst role whilst seeing colleagues operate at
every level of our business.
