Analysts
Analysts with Lazard in Australia generally are first degree graduates
in commerce or economics and have limited work experience. They
possess a passion for business and a genuine interest in the investment-banking
sector, particularly in relation to mergers and acquisitions.
Potential Analysts should display the following qualities:
- High academic achievement
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Energy and enthusiasm
- A disciplined approach
- Intellectual agility
- Innovative thinking
- Analytical thought process
- Ability to work well within a team
The primary role of a Lazard Analyst is to work within transaction
teams, providing transactional support by performing financial
analysis and modeling, conducting company and industry research,
preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers
and clients.
Due to our relatively small size and significant transaction volume,
Lazard's Analysts are expected to assume unusually significant
levels of responsibility requiring a high degree of maturity, self-confidence
and technical aptitude.
Lazard offers an unparalleled opportunity to work as part of small
client teams on major strategic assignments. We consider providing
meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives
to be an important part of the Analyst training and experience.
As our clients expect a lot from us, we must ask a lot from youLazard
employees. Candidates should be top academic performers who are
willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative,
creativity, maturity and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued.
Academic backgrounds may vary so long as candidates are comfortable
with financial concepts and enjoy quantitative work.
Summer Internships
Lazard will occasionally offer internships to outstanding undergraduates
about to commence their final year of study. An internship
with Lazard is an excellent way of gaining a better understanding
of the nature and culture of our business. It will allow
you to experience the Analyst role whilst seeing colleagues operate
at every level in our business. An internship can lead to
an offer of a position with Lazard in the following year's Analyst
program. We look for the same qualities in our Summer interns
as we require in our Analysts.
How to Apply
We aim to commence interviews with candidates for both our Analyst
and Summer Intern Programmes during March each year, with final
offers to be made during May.
