Analysts/Associates
Our Asia-Pacific region from time to time recruits high caliber
undergraduate, postgraduate or MBA graduates for Analyst or from
time to time Associate positions. Lazard offices in the Asia-Pacific
region which accept resumes from graduates are: Hong Kong, Singapore,
Seoul and Tokyo.
Analysts and Associates will become integral members of our Financial
Advisory practice by joining small transaction teams that provide
financial advisory services to the firm's clients. Extensive exposure
to the varied regulatory, financial and business practices in the
different Asian countries can be expected.
Day-to-day responsibilities of an Analyst include financial analysis
and modeling, company and industry research, participating in the
development of client presentations and interacting with senior
bankers and clients.
Joining as an Associate, you will work at a higher level on deal
teams, and a greater contribution in relation to the technical and
client work on transactions will be expected. Such duties would
include complex financial analysis and modeling, the creation and
preparation of client presentations, management of transaction execution
and interaction with clients.
Qualified candidates should be top academic performers who are
willing to work hard in an unstructured environment where initiative,
maturity, poise and enthusiasm for learning are highly valued. Strong
oral and written communication skills are essential. Academic backgrounds
for Analyst positions may vary so long as candidates are comfortable
with financial concepts and enjoy quantitative work. For Associate
positions, candidates should have a strong quantitative background.
Previous investment banking experience is looked upon favorably.
A long-term commitment to Asia, as wells as knowledge of its local
cultures and languages, is preferred. A very strong command of the
Japanese language will be necessary for positions in Tokyo. Extensive
travel throughout the Asia-Pacific region will be required.
Training and Development
Training and development is important and, depending on your academic
background and work experience, training will be designed to ensure
you are given the skills required for the job at the earliest opportunity.
This may involve classroom-based training with American or European
colleagues or on-the-job training with more senior team members.
