Analysts
Analysts possess a passion for business and a genuine interest in the investment
banking sector, particularly in relation to mergers and acquisitions. Their primary
purpose is to support transaction teams by performing financial and statistical
analysis, conducting research, preparing client presentations and assisting in
due diligence efforts.
At Lazard we look for a lot more than high academic achievement. We are just
as interested in your personality, individuality and extra-curricular achievements.
Potential Analysts within the London office should display the following qualities
throughout the application and selection process:
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- High academic achievement (340 UCAS points or equivalent and
a 2:1+ or equivalent)
- Strong personality
- Energy and enthusiasm
- Individuality
- A disciplined approach
- Intellectual agility
- Innovative thinking
- Analytical thought process
- Excellent communication skills
- Commercial acumen
- Ability to get on within a team
You will work within a team consisting of Bankers of all levels:
Managing Directors, Directors, Vice Presidents, Associates and
Analysts. Unlike many of our
competitors, Lazard's unique structure provides Analysts with exposure
to senior bankers and client representatives from day one.
There are 12 positions available in 2010 for high calibre Analysts within
the London office.
Please note that the application system for Analysts will open 14th September 2009.
The application deadline for Analyst positions is 13th November 2009.
Graduate Training and Development
As our clients expect a lot of us, we must ask a lot of you. We want you to succeed
and have designed an extensive training programme which will provide you with
a sound understanding of the technical aspects of our role.
The training programme, which is attended by new colleagues from across Europe,
includes carefully designed residential courses, master classes led by practicing
bankers and on the job coaching by team colleagues.
As your career progresses - at least twice a year as part of our performance
appraisal - we will discuss your training and development needs with you. We
may agree on a number of actions, which could include attending technical, personal,
management and business skills programmes which we have designed. Again, these programmes will be attended by colleagues from across Europe.
In addition to courses, you will be expected to keep up to date with regulatory
and market developments while taking every opportunity to learn from more experienced
team members on each assignment. We owe that commitment to our clients.
Summer Internship Programme
We offer 12 summer internships in our London office to undergraduates or postgraduates
with limited work experience in their penultimate year of study. An internship
with Lazard is an excellent way of gaining a better understanding of the nature
and culture of our business. It will allow you to experience the Analyst role
whilst seeing colleagues operate at every level of our business. Undertaking
a Lazard summer internship can lead to an offer of a place on the following
year's Analyst programme.
Please note, to be eligible for a summer internship you must complete your studies
in 2011.
Our 12 week internship programme operates in London during the summer commencing in late June.
Successful applicants will be assigned a 'buddy' who will provide the day-to-day
support required to ensure the internship is a worthwhile experience for both
parties.
Summer Intern Training and Development
You will undertake a six-day tailor-made training programme which will cover the
basic technical skills you will require for the duration of your internship.
On a practical level, your learning will be enhanced by working with colleagues
on current deals and completing an individual project which you will present
to our senior business directors.
The application deadline for summer internships is 29th
January 2010.
We strive to attract the best candidates based on ability, qualifications
and business need.
